Management team

Pálmi Pálmason Jr.:   CEO, Board Member 

Founder of Atlantis Group, Phoenix Investments, SeaCapital Group and Portunus Group. Mr. Palmason Jr. is a lifelong entrepreneur and seasoned executive in the global seafood industry. Mr. Pálmason founded Atlantis Group, an Icelandic company, in 2002, and along with his team achieved sales in excess of 100 million USD in 2004.  He also founded Phoenix Investments which to date has participated in the development of approximately 450 apartment units in Iceland and a variety of other real-estate related developments.

Axel R. Gudmundsson:   COO, Board Member 

Co-founder of Portunus Group.  Mr. Gudmundsson has 10 years of experience in the seafood industry and global logistics. As Global Sourcing Manager of Atlantis Group, he successfully managed an annual sourcing budget of 120 million USD.  A strong entrepreneur, Mr. Gudmundsson has an intimate knowledge of the global seafood marketplace which has been a great benefit to Portunus Group since its inception and is a key component to the companies continued growth and corporate health.

Prem Lalvani Jr., C.P.A.:   CFO, Board Member 

Founder of Iliad Avenues and SeaCapital Group. Mr. Lalvani spent eleven years covering the technology industry with leading investment banks including William Blair and Advest. He has regularly appeared on national television and radio programs and is frequently quoted by the financial media.

Pálmi Pálmason Sr.:   Director Vietnam, Board Member

Chairman Phoenix Group and co-founder of Portunus Group. Mr. Palmason Sr. has 20 years of direct retail experience as Vice President and Sales Director for two of the largest wholesalers in Iceland. He has extensive knowledge of the retail industry and has brought companies like Procter & Gamble, Gilette, L’oréal, and Johnson & Johnson and their brands to the Icelandic consumer market with tremendous success. His insights into branding, marketing and product development are a great addition to his management of the Phoenix group of companies.

Cesar Guerra:   Foreign Trade Manager 

Mr. Guerra has been a Logistic and Foreign Trade Manager exclusively for the seafood industry for more than 15 years. He has been directly involved in the salmon industry for 20 years of his career, working for some of the largest salmon producers in the world. He was responsible for all logistics and foreign trade activities for Atlantis Group from 2003 through 2007.

Pablo Halpern:   General Manager, 44 Sur, Chile 

Founder of Gardeweg – Halpern, a prominent law firm in Santiago, Chile.  Mr. Halpern served on Board of Directors of many international companies in Chile.  He was a member of the  Board of Directors for Stolt Seafarm Chile which was subsequently acquired by Marine Harvest.  Since 2007, Mr. Halpern has been responsible for Portunus Groups Chile operation, 44 Sur.
